Informational Event: "EIC Accelerator: Funding Opportunities, Processes, and Support"

With great success, the event "EIC Accelerator: Funding Opportunities, Processes, and Support" was held, organized by the PRAXI Network, the National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, in collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT/FORTH), the Association of Enterprises & Industries of Peloponnese & Western Greece (SEVPEDE), the European Digital Innovation Hub for Health (smartHEALTH-EDIH), the Enterprise Europe Network Hellas, and the Patras Science Park.
The event took place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT/FORTH) in Patras. Its goal was to inform and guide innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the Peloponnese, as well as start-ups and spin-offs, about funding opportunities, proposal submission processes, and the support provided throughout the process for the competitive funding tool EIC Accelerator.
The event began with greetings from distinguished guests, including Mr. Charalampos Bonanos, Deputy Regional Governor, Mr. Kleomenis Barlos, President of SEVPEDE, Dr. Theofilos Ioannidis, Director of Research at FORTH/ICE-HT, Dr. Vasileios Loukopoulos, President of the Patras Science and Technology Park, and Dr. Konstantinos Vavekis, Director of the PRAXI Network/FORTH.
On behalf of the PRAXI Network, speeches were delivered by Dr. Christina Cheimonidi, Dr. Achilleas Barlas, Dr. Ioannis Kortidis, and Ms. Maria Angelopoulou, who offered valuable advice for supporting businesses and practical information on submitting applications and securing funding.
Other significant speakers included Mr. Andreas Lymperis, Head of Sector EIC Accelerator E03, EISMEA, and Mr. Vasilis Tsanidis, Senior Innovation Procurement Advisor, EIC, EISMEA, who presented the EIC Accelerator funding tool.
One of the successful EIC Accelerator cases was presented by Dr. Nikos Kanopoulos of Brite Solar, highlighting how Greek innovative companies can benefit from the program. Additionally, Ms. Rosalia Thalassinou, Director of Loans and State Aid, and Mr. Eleftherios Podimatas, Head of Innovation at the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB), presented all the funding tools of the Hellenic Development Bank, including TEPIX III.
